A note about
Music Copyrights
When
shopping for a DJ keep in mind that
U.S.
Federal Copyright Law
prohibits for business purposes the reproduction of copyrighted musical
works on recordable formats including CD-R, tape, mini-disc, and
digital media, or hard disc drives.
Companies engaged in piracy for
the purpose of producing multiple DJ music systems place
themselves, their employees, their business, and your event at
risk.
Protect yourself and your
event by verifying that your entertainer uses only
original compact discs or legally obtained digital audio files. When shopping for a
DJ you should be wary
of unscrupulous companies and question the credibility of disc
jockeys operating with willful disregard of the law. It's your peace of mind.
You
can help in the fight against piracy by
reporting instances of serious copyright abuse.
